How to Live with More Inner Peace, Wisdom, and Flow

Discover how living consciously — rooted in self-awareness — transforms your experience of life toward healthier relationships and deeper connections, lower stress, greater clarity, wisdom, and flow.
On Our Way Toward More Conscious Living
Most of us often find ourselves under significant pressure, with our time and energy being stretched thin. These demands can sometimes lead us to fall into behavioral patterns that don’t serve us or our families and friends.
It's a human trait to err, but on the path of awakening, we have a responsibility to live more consciously. In a more sacred way. So, how can we rise up?
Awareness as the Cornerstone
Conscious awareness is the foundation of transforming our lives toward living in a more sacred manner.
By heightening our awareness of our surroundings and our internal workings, we can pave the way for clear insights, greater sensitivity, and making wise and compassionate choices.
Awareness also reduces the likelihood of getting entangled in drama and prevents us from becoming the source of unnecessary chaos.
This is important because when we are the source of drama, there's always a cost, sometimes widespread.
But the more conscious we are, the more we tend to live in reality — which is very different than our often skewed and troublesome perception of reality. And all of us, at times, have a colored perception of reality.
The Impact of Personal Perceptions
That troublesome aspect comes from our perceptions sometimes being colored by our unhealed emotional wounds. These can trigger knee-jerk reactions that cause more harm than good, draining our energy, and damaging relationships.
As we strive to live more consciously, we can better recognize when our perceptions might be skewed. This encourages us to step back and question whether or not our perceptions are distorted in some way. From that space, we stand a far greater chance of discerning what’s real from our stained glass view of reality.
With our enhanced awareness, we can see more clearly, which nurtures our capacity to live more consciously.
Consequences of Becoming Reactive
We’ve all gotten emotionally triggered, reacting in ways that were… less than at our best.
Our reactivity can have serious consequences in both the short and long term, and lead to a lot of stress and tension in our lives. This drains our energy, wastes time, makes us less productive, and can damage relationships.
But we’re quite resilient and with greater self-awareness of our vulnerabilities and triggers, we can skillfully deal with our emotions. We’ll be less likely to react, and we’ll reduce our stress footprint in the world.
Correcting Missteps: A Sign of Living Consciously
And by the way, if we do get triggered into reaction, as the intensity of the situation eases and we return to sanity, central to conscious living is to take whatever action is necessary to clean up the mess we've made.
We'll take a 100% responsibility for our words and behaviors and check in with anyone involved in the situation to make sure that everyone is okay — to see if there's anything that they need from us to come back into full and open-hearted, loving connection.
Tuning into the Subtle Cues
As we attune more to sacred living, we grow our natural ability to see a more holistic view of what's going on — becoming more aware of the subtle cues that ordinarily go unnoticed. We get a much clearer picture of what’s going on within us and around us.
And we’ll be more adept at perceiving the numerous subtle cues that are always in the air in our environments — sensitive to our own feelings, as well as the moods of our families, friends, and co-workers.
This sensitivity enables us to address the root cause of any challenging emotions or situations before they escalate. We won’t become omniscient, but we will most certainly notice a LOT more than we normally do.
Modeling Conscious Living… Everywhere
The more we live consciously, the better the role models we become. Yes, there’s a learning curve, and it takes time and dedication to develop degrees of mastery in this. But even our small steps toward living in a more sacred and respectful, open-hearted way makes a big difference in the world around us.
It’s such a gift in families when parents live more consciously. Children are magnificent sponges for this way of living and the changes in them can be positively significant.
The Ultimate Benefits of Conscious Living
Ultimately, living consciously helps us remain grounded in reality, rather than being burdened by unresolved issues from our past. It reduces wasted time and energy and fosters healthier relationships all around us.
We’ll see more clearly, respond in wise, compassionate ways, and be a positive force in our lives. It simply feels good and we flow so much better.
So, let’s strive to live with greater awareness, and free ourselves and those around us from unnecessary stress and drama.
Living in a more sacred way is always well within our reach. In every moment. So let’s embrace this journey towards becoming more mindful and open-hearted, for the benefit of all.
