How to Live with More Inner Peace, Wisdom, and Flow

Published on

Discover how living consciously — rooted in self-awareness — transforms your experience of life toward healthier relationships and deeper connections, lower stress, greater clarity, wisdom, and flow.

On Our Way Toward More Conscious Living

Most of us often find ourselves under significant pressure, with our time and energy being stretched thin. These demands can sometimes lead us to fall into behavioral patterns that don’t serve us or our families and friends.

It's a human trait to err, but on the path of awakening, we have a responsibility to live more consciously. In a more sacred way. So, how can we rise up?

Awareness as the Cornerstone

Quoto: If we’re under significant pressure, rather than falling into reactive behaviors that do not serve us well, we can proactively address the stressors by raising our awareness to wisely determine how to best respond for the good of all.

Conscious awareness is the foundation of transforming our lives toward living in a more sacred manner.

By heightening our awareness of our surroundings and our internal workings, we can pave the way for clear insights, greater sensitivity, and making wise and compassionate choices.

Awareness also reduces the likelihood of getting entangled in drama and prevents us from becoming the source of unnecessary chaos.

This is important because when we are the source of drama, there's always a cost, sometimes widespread.

But the more conscious we are, the more we tend to live in reality — which is very different than our often skewed and troublesome perception of reality. And all of us, at times, have a colored perception of reality.

The Impact of Personal Perceptions

That troublesome aspect comes from our perceptions sometimes being colored by our unhealed emotional wounds. These can trigger knee-jerk reactions that cause more harm than good, draining our energy, and damaging relationships.

As we strive to live more consciously, we can better recognize when our perceptions might be skewed. This encourages us to step back and question whether or not our perceptions are distorted in some way. From that space, we stand a far greater chance of discerning what’s real from our stained glass view of reality.

With our enhanced awareness, we can see more clearly, which nurtures our capacity to live more consciously.

Consequences of Becoming Reactive

We’ve all gotten emotionally triggered, reacting in ways that were… less than at our best.

Our reactivity can have serious consequences in both the short and long term, and lead to a lot of stress and tension in our lives. This drains our energy, wastes time, makes us less productive, and can damage relationships.

But we’re quite resilient and with greater self-awareness of our vulnerabilities and triggers, we can skillfully deal with our emotions. We’ll be less likely to react, and we’ll reduce our stress footprint in the world.

Correcting Missteps: A Sign of Living Consciously

And by the way, if we do get triggered into reaction, as the intensity of the situation eases and we return to sanity, central to conscious living is to take whatever action is necessary to clean up the mess we've made.

We'll take a 100% responsibility for our words and behaviors and check in with anyone involved in the situation to make sure that everyone is okay — to see if there's anything that they need from us to come back into full and open-hearted, loving connection.

Tuning into the Subtle Cues

As we attune more to sacred living, we grow our natural ability to see a more holistic view of what's going on — becoming more aware of the subtle cues that ordinarily go unnoticed. We get a much clearer picture of what’s going on within us and around us.

And we’ll be more adept at perceiving the numerous subtle cues that are always in the air in our environments — sensitive to our own feelings, as well as the moods of our families, friends, and co-workers.

This sensitivity enables us to address the root cause of any challenging emotions or situations before they escalate. We won’t become omniscient, but we will most certainly notice a LOT more than we normally do.

Modeling Conscious Living… Everywhere

Quoto: Living consciously, we’ll have greater self-awareness of our triggers and we'll more skillfully tend to our emotions. It’s a great relief to be less emotionally reactive, no longer causing stress or tension in our relationships. And it feels so much better having greater calm in our lives.

The more we live consciously, the better the role models we become. Yes, there’s a learning curve, and it takes time and dedication to develop degrees of mastery in this. But even our small steps toward living in a more sacred and respectful, open-hearted way makes a big difference in the world around us.

It’s such a gift in families when parents live more consciously. Children are magnificent sponges for this way of living and the changes in them can be positively significant.

The Ultimate Benefits of Conscious Living

Quoto: A great benefit of conscious living is that we grow our capacity to see a more holistic view of what's going on — enhancing our awareness of the subtle cues that ordinarily go unnoticed. This allows us to connect more deeply and authentically with those we care about.

Ultimately, living consciously helps us remain grounded in reality, rather than being burdened by unresolved issues from our past. It reduces wasted time and energy and fosters healthier relationships all around us.

We’ll see more clearly, respond in wise, compassionate ways, and be a positive force in our lives. It simply feels good and we flow so much better.

So, let’s strive to live with greater awareness, and free ourselves and those around us from unnecessary stress and drama.

Living in a more sacred way is always well within our reach. In every moment. So let’s embrace this journey towards becoming more mindful and open-hearted, for the benefit of all.

Violet Lehrer Owner, Clarity Path Coaching Carlsbad, California

Bodhi, I woke up flooded with gratitude for you today — your essence, your teaching, your energy, your sweet soft voice, your non-judgment. Your ability to have integrated that and not just teach it is inspiring to me. I’m thankful for your clarity and presence and for how much peace it has brought into my life. I’m thankful that the kids have learned the meaning of resistance and trigger.

I’m thankful for the hundred times I’ve heard your voice saying “the truth and essence of who we are is love” and that I can hear that voice in my head louder than the childhood “you’re not good enough”. I’ve thankful for the healing you’ve guided me on. I’m thankful that you have shown me (and Matt) the path to our hearts. I’m thankful for all the moments of freedom and joy that are in my life because I am not in resistance. You have made a profound difference in my life.

Kirstin Nielsen Partner Relations Manager, Aarhus BSS Career Højbjerg, Denmark

Bodhi is a fantastic teacher and coach, and I’m so thankful for working with him. Though I’ve worked with coaches and therapists over the last 10 years, it was my sessions with Bodhi that helped me to heal my most self-destructive patterns. Now I feel very blessed that my life flows. Bodhi is a very warm and humorous person, and I always get amazing insights during our sessions.

As a coach I had primarily been using a very result-oriented model with a great number of people in Europe. After meeting Bodhi I learned to act from truth and I feel so much more present with my clients. As a result, my business has expanded naturally without any other effort than just being able to use what I’ve learned from Bodhi with my clients. He makes a great difference for so many people.

  • What Bodhi does almost makes traditional coaching obsolete.

Calvin Correli President & CEO, Creator of Simplero New York, New York

I have used many coaches over the years, but Bodhi is one that I return to because he is simply in a class of his own. My experience has been that a lot of coaches can help you get to your goals faster, only to have you realize that those goals didn't actually fulfill you or give you what you thought they would. What Bodhi does, is help me heal and clear out those things that prevent me from going where I truly need and want to go, in the simplest possible way. What Bodhi does almost makes traditional coaching obsolete.

There is a before and an after regarding my work with Bodhi. Before working with Bodhi for many years I experienced a life with a lot of struggle, pain and resistance, both in my private and my business life. Today I experience a life with joy, love and peace – even amidst the challenges of life. I’ve never actually been with him in person – but I sense his energy, his warmth and love in our work. I forget Bodhi is at the other side of the planet – he is truly with me when we work together.

Bodhi is a gift in the world – he can work on many levels which means that you can work and grow on many levels too. I will always be very grateful that we connected and I highly recommend Bodhi to everybody that really wants to live a life in freedom.
